Tracking flights in real time (AR - Augmented Reality)

 Here we will know difference ways of tracking flights using app "flightradar24". All the below options are accomplished using the aforementioned app. 

1. Knowing the status of the flight when flight number is known.
2. When when know the route of the flight.
3. Using the AR (Augmented Reality) option of the mobile app "flightradar24", this is the most advanced option I've come across.

Prerequisites : 

• Install and open the flightradar24 app from android app store.

1. Knowing the status of the flight when flight number is known

    - Open the flightradar24 app.

    - In the search bar on the top enter the flight number and select the appropriate flight.

    - When the results are displayed like scheduled departure time, actual departure time etc.

    - Here we can explore options like "Show on map" to see where its in the google map.

    - On this screen we can see the 3D view of the flight from flight's point of view, however we can also switch 3D view into pilot's point of view, using the option present on the right of the screen.

2. When when know the route of the flight

    - Open the flightradar24 app.

    - In the search bar on the top enter the flight route, using airport name or airport code.

• Example : airport name - London Heathrow Airport - airport code (LHR)
• Example : airport name - Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi Int'l Airport - airport code (HYD)

    - From the displayed flights, select the appropriate flight you need information about.

    - When the results are displayed like scheduled departure time, actual departure time etc.

    - Here we can explore options like "Show on map" to see where its in the google map.

    - On this screen we can see the 3D view of the flight from flight's point of view, however we can also switch 3D view into pilot's point of view, using the option present on the right of the screen.

3. Using the AR (Augmented Reality) option of the mobile app "flightradar24", this is the most advanced option I've come across.

    - Open the flightradar24 app.

    - Click on the AR option on the top left of the screen.

    - Location should be enabled to use this option.

    - You get a pop up to calibrate you phone for accurate real time tracking.

    - Follow the simple instructions shown on the screen to calibrate your phone.

    - Once completed you can now point your phone to the sky or any passing flight you see, to know about the flight.

    - This option works in day or night 

    - Being a user this option has blown my mind by the accuracy at which this option works.
